ABOUT ME (& YOU)

Here's a little background, to give you an idea of whether you'd like us to work together.

I'm a freelance business support, marketing consultant and trainer - a general get-on-with-what-needs-doing (or show-you-how) resource for small companies, entrepreneurs and busy people in general; in short, anyone who needs help with running, improving, setting up or promoting their business but doesn't have enough time or know-how to do so. I also plug the gap in larger organisations when they need additional resource.

I've supported companies and their people as far back as I can remember, working in London with high-end businesses even before my International Business degree. I was always interested in what made people tick and how best they could achieve whatever they set out to do.

Having started out in the City, followed by Mayfair and then Harley Street, for the last ten years or so I've freelanced for clients who are generally within the wellbeing and lifestyle field. I support them in digital marketing and in addressing any area of their business (or life) which needs attention.

I love to work with a range of people: some clients have a lot of knowledge and experience - a couple have been world-renowned - and others don't and aren't! And they're all great with people which is what drives me to work with them - they're looking to get the best out of themselves and others.

I'm a very positive person - a task may look insurmountable but I love to help out or train you on the tools you need. I think doing what you love - or enjoy, at least! - is important as having a good work / life balance.

So how did I get started and how might I be able to help you?

I specialised in marketing and technology during my International Business degree in the UK and Italy (which is like my second home) and worked for regular clients in London, from media and tech companies to VIPs. I learnt to quickly slot in, identify people's priorities and do whatever they needed, either doing the work myself or training them.

Technology exploded at this time - we were among the first to do our whole degrees on computer, the first to have email and mobile phones and the first to be testing and using the internet. And then social media followed too. So needless to say, I learnt an awful lot about using technology in a very short space of time - and also how to help others who were pretty lost with it!

I've used these skills throughout my career, initially at the Financial Times online division and in the City, training (nervous) traders and businesses on software and the internet (still a relatively new concept) whilst managing marketing and my team, learning what makes people work best and how technology can help them. Brilliant years and then I wanted to use help others with boosting their overall business.

So I made a career change, supporting successful businesses, start-ups and entrepreneurs, working with people who were super busy, under-resourced or just plain stuck. I love mucking in - I often advise people as they're starting out, fleshing out a marketing plan together and how best to establish and run the business, and I also updating websites, looking at strategy or helping someone with their company from home, training family members - and learning about businesses and their people, identifying where I can add value, whatever the task. And people tend to trust me as I work with the same people for years and have been in the game for a good while now! I help them protect the reputation they've established to date, not least as many are media go-to's in their industry, featuring in The Times, Vogue (and I was name checked in the New York Times business section myself years back but it was blink and you'll miss it!).

It hasn't all been business, marketing and technology - in recent years, I've worked with lots of clients within wellbeing (from coaches and psychologists to health practitioners and global consultants), and I already knew a lot about people development and health so have a good understanding of how the brain and body best function - particularly important given our lives these days. When you're in front of a screen a lot, it's particularly important to address how you work so your day isn't a goal-less slog, wading through emails and phone scrolling!

All in all, I love helping people to truly work well to achieve what they want so feel free to contact me to discuss how I could help you.
